The rugged leading guy and 1968 Best Actor Oscar champion for Charly died today after acareer that started like a handsome youngthesp and continuedwell into his dotage. He was 88.ButCliff Robertson may be appreciated for getting downoneof probably the most effective Hollywood moguls, David Begelman. In 1977, Robertson learned that his title have been forged on the $10,000 check that they recognized he'd not gained. He soon discovered it had been a forgery completed of Begelman andtriggered among the biggeststudio scams from the seventies. Begelman resigned, and Robertsoncouldn’t get acting work before early eighties.Robertsons lengthy movie career started with Have a picnic in 1955 and ongoing through Spider-Guy and it is first couple of sequels as “Uncle Ben Parker”.But he might be best appreciated for playingJohn F Kennedyin the biopicPT 109 andwas selected personally through the leader. He seemed to be a familiar face in television dramas in the earliest times of the little screen.
