More news around the remake front (yes, we're getting as fed up with writing it when you are reading through it): Derek Luke continues to be cast because the male lead within the remake from the 1976 film 'Sparkle.' The film follows singer Sparkle Williams and her rise to fame. This time around around, actress Jordin Sparks is going to be playing Sparkle with Luke representing Stix, a singer-songwriter deeply in love with Sparkle. Starring alongside Sparks and Luke is going to be Whitney Houston, Mike Epps and Cee Lo Eco-friendly. If perhaps we're able to get another Curtis Mayfield soundtrack using this.
